After talking to Lyn two days running I’m completely reinspired!
My summer project is going to be to revamp all my sites – add a few pages to here, like Silversand Online used to have if anyone remembers that. Argent just needs updating, that’s fine the way it is. Might even open some shows though! Give POU a new purpose and the most major changes will be at TDP.
Now I shall look at this post at the beginning of September and see how much of it I didn’t accomplish 😆

At the beginning of last year (academic – September or Octoberish) Di (assistant) told us that her daughter was dropping one of her A-Levels and thus would be coming up to school to help. Her daughter is a year older than me – 18/upper sixth as opposed to my 17/lower sixth (if I were at school).
Anyway, to remove the middle ramblings and get to the point!
Yesterday she was at school, we were all talking (for 2 hours actually!) and among topics of conversation were what she’d done, what her plans were for the summer..etc. Basically, she’s –
Passed her driving test
Going to take her advanced test
Taken (and hopefully passed) A-Levels
Going to learn to ride a motorbike
Going to Australia over the summer for five weeks
Been doing paid supply at school
There was probably more I can’t remember and this was much better the first time I wrote it, before I deleted it by mistake and had to rewrite it 😉 But I’m extremely jealous of her, especially the last point! I’ve had a crap year and hardly been able to do anything, she’s only a year older and has accomplished so much…much of which I want to do!
Since my birthday I’ve had an overwhelming desire to learn to drive! Don’t know why, I’ve been able to learn since I was 16. Maybe it’s because it’s the age everyone else starts learning…
It’s incredibly frustrating though, whilst anyone else could buy a £300 second hand car I would have to buy thousands and thousands of pounds worth of brand new adapted vehicle and as it’s a depreciating asset I’ll need to be able to drive most days to justify it. Oh life is expensive if you’re disabled!

Yes, it’s that time of year again. The last week of term which brings with it their sports/fun day and leavers service!
Today was sports day, which, as usual was rather funny.
And messy, in the case of our class – run to a bowl full of water and half apples, pick up apple in teeth, take it (in your teeth) a couple of yards, put on plate, run a bit further to bowl filled with flour, pick up sweet (wrapped – celebration) with teeth, run to line with doughnuts hanging from it, place hands behind back and grab doughnut just using teeth, either eat the whole thing or take a bite, whichever you prefer.
Duncan’s class stole our doughnut part and did it with marshmallows! Probably a bit more sensible than doughnuts, but we like to do things the messy way!
One of the other classes had to throw balls into a paddling pool (with water in) and the teacher of that class knew they wouldn’t actually get them in so she got Phil and a couple of others to stand behind and put the balls in when they missed. Somehow that race ended by water balloons being thrown at those poor, unsuspecting people – t’was very funny!
Have you noticed by now that these events usually involve water…?
Afterwards we went back to the classroom and everyone chatted, we were there for ages in the end (left about quarter past five!) but it was nice to see Di and actually talk to her properly (as the deputy head she’s been the head for most of this year as they couldn’t find anyone suitable to employ – apparently she’ll be back in the class just after christmas), haven’t really seen her all year, except in passing to say hi!
So that was my day 🙂 I do have some medical news to share but that can wait until another day. Now, to bed!

As I sit (well, lie) here and type this I contemplate many things – why am I now old, why is it so darn hot and above all WHY have I not written here in almost a month?! All very important musings, I think you’ll agree. Now, to try and sum up the last month.
My birthday was okay I suppose, considering. I got lots of presents and what on Neopets. Missed my Cookie and my grandmother and my great aunt. Not a lot to comment on, really.
And actually, thinking about it, absolutely nothing else has happened! I’ve had a few medical appointments but nothing worth noting.

Sometimes I really do wonder why I bother. I seem to be under some lengthy and incredibly strong curse. Everything ALWAYS goes wrong!
After serving my six month sentence of being more or less confined to the house bar occasional essential trips to the bank and not quite so essential trips to the supermarket I was released on the 10th, last Friday, as I wrote.
It’s my birthday on Wednesday, it was meant to be the last one of term so I just wanted to go as normal and take a cake. I haven’t been there since December so it seemed like a good plan. I’ve been dreading my birthday and I really don’t want it, it seemed like a good solution. I really didn’t want to make a big thing of it.
This morning dad and I went up to Selworthy as mum was working and Di told us that on Wednesday Bob (the tutor) had told them the 22nd won’t be the last week of Cannington as he’s having a conference on that day and then there’ll be one week after that.
Can’t think what he’ll go on about for that length of time, sounds rather tedious. Apparently he’s invited about 100 people. So I get to sit at home on my own after all! Yay.
Oh and you’re not imagining things – I only posted this on 12th July, it was all written weeks ago but apparently I forgot to publish it!

I remember what I was going to say 🙂 On Friday I went up to Selworthy for the first time in about six months, was mucho fun. Talked for a bit and then walked to the library (it’s just down the road) where they picked a book each. Always amuses me, the boys make straight for the sport (more accurately football) books and pick these really thick autobiographys and such with almost no pictures and tiny writing. They could never even hope to begin to read them!
Then we walked back to school they went for lunch and we came home. The end!
On Sunday we went to Seaton, it was very nice. The weather was gorgeous and I just sat on the prom watching the kids and dogs playing in the sea, the waves crashing (er…okay, more pathetically lapping) and the boats zooming across the skyline. I was there for ages then I decided it was lunch time, ate chips and came home!
