At the beginning of last year (academic – September or Octoberish) Di (assistant) told us that her daughter was dropping one of her A-Levels and thus would be coming up to school to help. Her daughter is a year older than me – 18/upper sixth as opposed to my 17/lower sixth (if I were at school).

Anyway, to remove the middle ramblings and get to the point!

Yesterday she was at school, we were all talking (for 2 hours actually!) and among topics of conversation were what she’d done, what her plans were for the summer..etc. Basically, she’s –
Passed her driving test
Going to take her advanced test
Taken (and hopefully passed) A-Levels
Going to learn to ride a motorbike
Going to Australia over the summer for five weeks
Been doing paid supply at school

There was probably more I can’t remember and this was much better the first time I wrote it, before I deleted it by mistake and had to rewrite it 😉 But I’m extremely jealous of her, especially the last point! I’ve had a crap year and hardly been able to do anything, she’s only a year older and has accomplished so much…much of which I want to do!

Since my birthday I’ve had an overwhelming desire to learn to drive! Don’t know why, I’ve been able to learn since I was 16. Maybe it’s because it’s the age everyone else starts learning…
It’s incredibly frustrating though, whilst anyone else could buy a £300 second hand car I would have to buy thousands and thousands of pounds worth of brand new adapted vehicle and as it’s a depreciating asset I’ll need to be able to drive most days to justify it. Oh life is expensive if you’re disabled!
