Yes, it’s that time of year again. The last week of term which brings with it their sports/fun day and leavers service!

Today was sports day, which, as usual was rather funny.

And messy, in the case of our class – run to a bowl full of water and half apples, pick up apple in teeth, take it (in your teeth) a couple of yards, put on plate, run a bit further to bowl filled with flour, pick up sweet (wrapped – celebration) with teeth, run to line with doughnuts hanging from it, place hands behind back and grab doughnut just using teeth, either eat the whole thing or take a bite, whichever you prefer.

Duncan’s class stole our doughnut part and did it with marshmallows! Probably a bit more sensible than doughnuts, but we like to do things the messy way!

One of the other classes had to throw balls into a paddling pool (with water in) and the teacher of that class knew they wouldn’t actually get them in so she got Phil and a couple of others to stand behind and put the balls in when they missed. Somehow that race ended by water balloons being thrown at those poor, unsuspecting people – t’was very funny!

Have you noticed by now that these events usually involve water…?

Afterwards we went back to the classroom and everyone chatted, we were there for ages in the end (left about quarter past five!) but it was nice to see Di and actually talk to her properly (as the deputy head she’s been the head for most of this year as they couldn’t find anyone suitable to employ – apparently she’ll be back in the class just after christmas), haven’t really seen her all year, except in passing to say hi!

So that was my day 🙂 I do have some medical news to share but that can wait until another day. Now, to bed!
